Where Science Meets Style

Uluu’s revolutionary approach transforms humble seaweed into something extraordinary through an innovative fermentation process that uses seaweed and saltwater microbes to produce natural materials called PHA (polyhydroxyalkanoate) that can be used for different applications, including textiles. Importantly, it is a material that behaves like traditional plastic but offers something conventional materials simply cannot: complete biodegradability without toxic residue, zero microplastic shedding, and active environmental benefit.

The first result? Crafting Uluu’s seaweed-based materials into small, but incredibly meaningful, buttons.

But here’s where it gets even more beautiful: farming the seaweed for these buttons actually removes CO₂ from the atmosphere while absorbing marine pollutants from our oceans. Each button is literally helping to restore marine ecosystems rather than deplete them.
